When the commercial smoke bomb ignites, the reaction produces white smoke and the heat evaporates the organic dye. Commercial smoke bombs have small holes through which smoke and paint are discharged to create a stream of finely dispersed particles. There are even colors you can add if you want to make colored smoke.
