What type of frying pan do you use to grill steak?
While the grill is heating, preheat an empty cast iron pan or grill on high heat on the stove for about five minutes. If you use a premium slice of aged meat and a spicy frying pan, you do not need to add oil to the frying pan. The hot pan may start to smoke a little.
Do you need a frying pan to grill a steak?

If you do not have a non-stick pan, or if you are cooking messy, you can dress up and down the pan with regular or non-stick aluminum foil. To the top of the pan, be sure to make slits in the sheet so that the fat can drain off.

When grilling, use very powerful radiant heat from the oven’s top heating element. The good news is that crispy, browned and caramelized foods are much better than tan, so keep grilling!

What can I use if I do not have a plate?
Since you do not have a casserole, you can use a casserole as long as you remember to rotate the food when it is cooked. It is advisable to avoid the use of non-stick cookware or Teflon as they may emit toxic chemicals when exposed to high temperatures.
How to grill a steak without smoking it?
Heat the frying pan on high heat until a drop of water spreads over the surface before evaporating. Then use a brush to paint both sides of the steak with a thin layer of vegetable oil (or other oil with a high smoke point). Sweats as usual.
Do I need a special frying pan for grilling?
