How long do you bake Sculpin clay?
When baking Sculpey Bake Shop® Eraser Clay, bake pieces for 20 minutes at 250°F (121°C) until 1/2 inch (12 mm) thick. We always recommend using a thermometer in the kiln when curing clays to ensure your kiln reaches and stays at the desired firing temperature.

Why does my polymer clay melt in the oven?
If your clay melts in the oven, it’s a type of modeling clay, also called playdough or modeling clay. And you might be surprised to learn that this is a very common mistake. Sometimes this happens because you grab a stick of modeling clay with your polymer clay.
Does Sculpey shrink when baked?
Sculpey clay is only reduced by about 2%, not even a noticeable amount! Colors will not change during cooking. If you notice that the colors are browner after firing, you may have scorched the clay. Check your thermometer again.
